Greenville LNG is the pioneer of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) production and distribution for domestic consumption in Nigeria using the virtual pipeline system. The virtual pipeline system replaces physical pipelines which are susceptible to vandalism and invariably cannot serve all nooks and crannies of Nigeria. LNG offers a cheaper, cleaner and safer energy source for industries and tertiary sector operations.
Greenville LNG is a fully registered Nigerian Company, established in domestic LNG Logistics infrastructure, comprising of natural gas liquefaction to serve particularly where plants are located far from the gas pipeline.
Nigeria has a total Gas Reserve of 192 TCF (Trillion Cubic Feet), which is the 9th largest gas reserve base in the world. However, development has not kept pace with the oil sector and this has led to large scale flaring of Associated Gas. Greenville LNG has made a foreign direct investment of approximately $500M USD on the first phase of this project, with hopes to invest more in the near future.
Greenville LNG has a facility in Rumuji, Rivers State with 3 liquefaction trains. Train 1, 2 & 3 collectively have the capacity to produce 2250 Metric Tonnes per day. The LNG storage tanks hold 10,000m3 of LNG; 300 cryogenic trucks with a capacity of 25 Tonnes each, the trucks will travel a distance of more than 1000km on a stretch without refueling. LNG refueling stations are currently under-construction at strategic locations across Nigeria for LNG fueled vehicles.
