École des Ponts ParisTech, created in 1747 under the name École Royale des Ponts et Chaussées, is a higher education establishment that trains engineers to a high level of scientific, technical and general competency.

Educating for excellence
These different degree courses prepare them to occupy posts of high responsibility within both government departments and companies, in particular in the fields of civil engineering, construction, spatial planning, transportation, energy, water and urban services.

Masters, doctorates and MBA
Like the universities, the School delivers a wide range of research and vocational Masters programmes.It is involved in PhD research through Paris-East University, a centre for research and higher education of which it was one of the founder members.
