We are one of the largest and most popular multidisciplinary universities in Finland. Our six faculties host over 15,000 students from all over Finland and nearly 100 countries around the world.

Our core fields of research and education are learning, teaching and the learning and growth environments that support development; basic natural phenomena and mathematical thinking; languages, culture and communities in global change processes; physical activity, health and wellbeing; information technology and the human in the knowledge society. Five of our research units have been awarded Centre of Excellence status through the international evaluation carried out by the Academy of Finland.

Our University is ranked on the Times Higher Education World University Ranking list, the QS World University Ranking list, U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Ranking list, and the CWTS Leiden Ranking list.
