The American University of Athens is a professionally and academically recognized University in the European Union/Greece (according to article 3, 11 and 12 of Act 2005/36/EEC and Greek Act 38/2010), licensed to grant Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees.
The Directive gives an AUA graduate the right to be considered for registration as a Chartered Engineer in the U.K. and circumscribes the procedures which have to be followed for membership to the respective, per concentration, institute or society in the United Kingdom and in the European Union/Greece.
