FUBiS is an intensive, academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted towards their degrees at their home institutions. FUBiS sessions run for 3 to 6 weeks and take place both in summer and winter.

Curriculum

FUBiS offers intensive and semi-intensive German language classes at up to five different proficiency levels. In addition, FUBiS offers subject classes on various class topics. Most classes are held in English by distinguished German and international faculty.

Study and Field Trips

FUBiS classes make use of the vast historic, cultural, and political institutions and resources Berlin offers. Study and field trips to museums and memorials, as well as political and cultural institutions are integral parts of the curriculum. In some classes students have the unique opportunity to attend specially organized and exclusive round-table discussions with decision makers, diplomats, and experts in their field of study.

Accommodation and Extracurricular Program

FUBiS arranges appropriate off-campus accommodation for the duration of the program as an optional service at the student's request. Accommodation options include single rooms in shared apartments at the student dorms, single apartments, and homestay with a Berlin family.

A variety of extracurricular activities complement the FUBiS program. Students are invited to participate in activities such as a guided tour of the Reichstag Building and a River Boat Tour through downtown Berlin. Excursions on the weekends to other well-known German cities, for example to Dresden, are also offered.
