Wits Business School (WBS) is the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, ranked the top research university in Africa. Founded in 1968, WBS has graduated the most MBAs in Africa and thousands of alumni all over the world are proud to say they have an MBA from WBS!

If you choose to do your post-graduate studies at WBS, you can be assured of a top-quality, globally competitive qualification. Almost all lecturers in our faculty hold PhDs and they are respected teachers and researchers in their fields.

We believe in a highly interactive learning experience and our lecture theatres are designed not for taking notes, but for lively debate. Believing strongly in the case method to enrich the learning experience, WBS was the first business school in Africa to establish its own Case Centre. This active research hub produces on average ten cases a year, focusing on well-known organisations and individuals, and real-life dilemmas.

WBS is situated in Parktown in the heart of Johannesburg’s commercial hub. Our business networks, both local and global, have helped to position us as a leader in dialogue, discourse and debate on critical business and socio-economic issues facing the country and continent.

WBS also leads the field in a number of research areas: we were the first business school in Africa to establish a Chair in Digital Business, a Chair in African Philanthropy and an Energy Leadership Centre. These centres and chairs are currently producing new curricula for academic and executive education programmes based on cutting-edge research.

Apart from MBA, PDBA and PDM programmes, WBS offers a variety of Master of Management degrees in specialised areas and boasts the largest PhD centre in Africa, attracting numerous international doctoral candidates. We are about equipping business leaders with the skills they need to help take this continent into an exciting economic future.
