Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) a reputed Institution for Engineering studies, a leading technological University in Bangladesh. It has an earnest object to achieve actively excellence bewitching in higher education, research and progression in Engineering and Technology. Though this University started functioning from Sep 2003 it was established as Khulna Engineering College in 1974, with a view to providing more opportunity and autonomy the College was later converted to an degree awarding autonomous institution called Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT) Khulna in July 1986 through an ordinance of Government of Bangladesh.
About 2300 students are conducting undergraduate and post graduate studies engineering and science in this University. KUET, at present possesses 14 departments under three faculties. About 205 energetic and scholarly teachers are teaching in this Institution. The Campus of KUET Stands at north-west corner of Khulna City Corporation touching the bank of the river Bhairove in the midst of an unimaginative heavenly natural beauty.
Now the varsity has a basic role in studies and research in undergraduate and postgraduate. The varsity has own research reputation either by it’s own sponsorship or sponsored by foreign organizations such as EU,UGC, Etc. A number of scholars of the varsity solve problems modernly based on engineering and technology.
