The Fernando Pessoa University (UFP), established by the Fernando Pessoa Education and Culture Foundation (FFP) and recognized in the public interest by Decree-Law No. 107/96 of 31 July, is the result of an innovative higher education project. started in the 1980s, through the Higher Institute of Information and Business Sciences, and the Erasmus Institute of Higher Education, which served as its structural basis and whose seniority of degrees and diplomas inherited, pursuant to Article 7 of that decree.
With the motto Nova et Nove (innovating in knowledge and teaching methods), UFP aims at teaching, research, community extension and the provision of services in the fields of training offered by its faculties, according to its scientific-pedagogical structure:
- Faculty of Science and Technology (Porto)
- Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Porto)
- Faculty of Health Sciences and School of Health (Porto)
- Ponte de Lima Unit, also with School of Health.
