LEGACY AFRICA Fund Managers (Pty) Ltd (“LEGACY AFRICA”) was founded and registered as a private company in 2012 and licenced in 2013 as a Financial Services Provider by the Financial Services Board in South Africa. We are a discretionary investment manager. We are licensed to manage investment portfolios that invest in listed African assets on the stock exchanges in Africa and beyond on behalf of our clients.
LEGACY AFRICA believes in long term investing as a way to savings and wealth creation. We, therefore, firmly believe in sustainable and responsible investing as it goes hand-in-hand with our long term investment horizon and that of our clients.
The LEGACY AFRICA team is led by Godwin Sepeng as Chief Investment Officer. Senzo Hlangu is Head of Research and Operations. Kgosi Monametsi is Head of Private Equity. Lentswe Gopane is Head of Marketing and Distribution.
LEGACY AFRICA has outsourced most of non-core activities.
Our roles in investment management have ranged from quantitative analyst, investment specialist, employee benefits consultant, to portfolio manager and head of investment boutique. Our investment experience in investment management includes portfolio performance & risk analysis, portfolio management, product development, client service, sales and investment boutique management.
We have investment management experience in assets across the African continent, having managed South African, Namibian and Pan-African investment mandates.
