Adexen is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction operations in Lagos.
Our client is a leading Civil Construction company in Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Reviewing construction plans and formulating quantity requirements.
Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, along with contracts to secure optimal deals.
Collaborating with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
Generating reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and related documents.
Crafting performance reports and scopes and quantities for subcontracted works.
Advising managers and clients on enhancement strategies.
Monitoring materials and replenishing supplies as needed.
Documenting design changes and updating budgets accordingly.
Establishing and nurturing professional relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
Coordinating and aligning valuated works with client representatives.
Overseeing and training local QS personnel.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualified Civil Engineer/Quantity Surveyor.
A decade of professional experience in a similar senior position.
Previous experience in construction estimating or finance is advantageous.
Profound understanding of construction, particularly in large-scale projects like infrastructure.
Strong organizational, planning, and strategic capabilities.
Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Proficient communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
Prior exposure to emerging/African markets is a bonus.
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
